Financial Model Re-Engineering (Billing)

The initiative focused on analysing existing processes and services at the client, recommending the most cost-effective solution, and implementing it to ensure transparent financial reporting to the board. Instead of customising expensive off-the-shelf tools like SAP or ACCPAC, the project leveraged existing software and hardware, delivering significant long-term savings.

A financial data warehouse was developed to consolidate all billing transactions—captured daily or near real-time—enabling instant invoice generation, dashboards, and query facilities. Subsequent phases automated invoice postings to ACCPAC and introduced trader threshold alerts, providing both internal efficiency and external visibility of spending.

With all chargeable services centralised in one repository, the client gained the ability to analyse profitability, eliminate loss-leading services, and identify cross-selling opportunities. The result was improved transparency, efficiency, and profitability across the organisation.

Building and Setting Up the API Factory

The client needed to establish an API Factory to accelerate delivery, improve governance, and provide a scalable approach to API development. Previous processes lacked consistency, and confidence in delivery mechanisms was low.

We built and operationalised the API Factory on the Azure platform, setting up toolsets with Kanban and Scrum, forming a delivery team, and building strong vendor relationships, including with a remote partner in India. Working alongside Cyber Security and Architecture teams, we implemented improvements and reusable utilities, while providing coaching, documentation, and clear handover processes.

The result was a fully functioning API Factory, transitioned seamlessly into BAU under an API Lead. The model now enables sustainable, efficient API delivery with stronger collaboration, improved governance, and a foundation for ongoing innovation.

Trade Monitoring Automation

Faced with the challenge of managing complex electronic trade settlements, the client sought greater transparency, efficiency, and compliance. What once required a 49-person team is now managed by just six—including the director and senior manager—thanks to the client’s vision and commitment to innovation.

By championing the design and implementation of a powerful business rules engine, the client now validates every trade automatically against financial obligations and regulatory rules. The system integrates seamlessly with banks and electronic transfer services, issues alerts when rules are breached, and even initiates fund movements or reversals when needed—ensuring trades always meet settlement obligations.

With browser-based access, the client extended this transparency to brokers, providing real-time visibility of trades and their status. The result: faster, more reliable settlements, reduced operational overhead, and stronger confidence across the trading ecosystem—all achieved because the client put customers and compliance first.

Aligning the Data Management Lifecycle to Industry Standards

We rescued a client’s stalled Business Process Architecture initiative by repairing stakeholder relationships and building consistent Business Process Models across business domains and product lines.

Using the EA Sparx toolset, we aligned stakeholders to generic models for software selection, captured data objects for data modelling, and delivered under tight timeframes.

The result was restored confidence, timely progress on software selection, and a solid foundation for future process and data modelling.

Rescuing a Critical Information Management Project

The client’s Information Management (IM) project had stalled after multiple failed attempts, leaving stakeholders frustrated, vendors misaligned, and technical issues unresolved. We were engaged to rescue the project by restoring confidence and delivering tangible outcomes.

Through stakeholder alignment across three workstreams, deployment of a fully functioning Data Catalogue, streamlined vendor management, and rapid issue resolution, we re-established momentum and trust. Clear communication and quick wins rebuilt confidence in the programme.

The result was a successful delivery of outcomes that had previously seemed unachievable, demonstrating the organisation’s renewed ability to execute major Information Management initiatives.

Rescuing the Yearly Enterprise Applications Project

The Enterprise Applications project had stalled under the weight of 32 uncoordinated work packages, inconsistent ways of working, and a lack of delivery momentum.

We stabilised and reset the project by regaining control across all work packages, introducing kanban boards to improve collaboration, and coaching teams in agile practices. A repeatable delivery model was designed and embedded to support the project’s annual cycle.

The result was restored clarity and focus, improved team productivity, and a sustainable implementation model that now underpins this recurring yearly project.

Business Process Architecture Across the Enterprise

The client had struggled with repeated failures to establish a consistent Business Architecture process, creating strained stakeholder relationships and risking delays to critical software selection.

We reset the initiative by repairing relationships, reshaping earlier failed work, and delivering standardised Business Process Models (BPM) in the EA Sparx toolset. Stakeholders were aligned on generic models to support immediate software selection needs, while also capturing data objects to feed into data modelling.

Delivered under tight timeframes, this work restored confidence, ensured timely progress on software selection, and established a scalable foundation for future process and data modelling across the enterprise.
